THOUGHTS

Location, Location, Location….. The vision for ‘The Boathouse’ emerged quite simply out of the very views currently enjoyed from its windows. The ever-changing Lough Foyle never ceases to inspire and captivate the onlooker. How better to make use of such a setting, than to establish an eatery right on its shores..?

When it comes to food, our philosophy is simple – Quality, fresh ingredients.

When in season and at their best, these, transformed into a tasty meal is one of life’s great pleasures. We want our customers to celebrate the joys of eating and sharing good food, in a relaxed laid-back surrounding. Click here to view our gallery.

Without doubt, we are all leading busy lives today, filled with different demands and pressures, so sitting down to share a meal and a drink with family and friends, reminds us of the importance of ‘making time’.

Boathouse

HISTORY

The buildings currently housing ‘The Boathouse’ Gastropub, are a combination of old and new. The original stone building that incorporates the Main ‘Boat’ Bar, was formerly part of the coach house buildings belonging to the Cochrane family Estate.

The owners recognised the potential of this space, and have added to it, a more modern relaxed extension, to include both restaurant areas – beyond the bar, and in the wrap-around sunroom affording the spectacular sea views.
